Meet the team

Michael Creek Managing Director

Michael Creek

The Managing Director, Mike Creek has been in the electronics business all his working life. Having worked for a couple of companies after leaving technical college, his ambition to ultimately produce his own budget amplifier led him to establish Creek Audio in 1982.

During the 80’s Mordaunt Short acquired both Creek and Epos. Working alongside Epos’s founder, Robin Marshall, for several years, it became apparent to Mike that there was a great synergy between the two brands.

He re-acquired Creek in 1993 and in 1999 he purchased the Epos brand enabling him to design a complete range of products for the consumer market – the electronics and loudspeakers being totally complementary to each other.

Mike’s interests away from the office lean towards cars – were he not earning a living from the electronics industry, he could probably do quite well as a Formula One historian! And as if he’s not sufficiently challenged in his working life, he’s contemplating taking the odd flying lesson or two!

Jacki Pugh Marketing Manager

Jacki Pugh

Jacki joined us at the beginning of 2002 to focus on the PR and marketing for the company.

She is not new to the world of Hi-Fi, having been involved in the Australian audio industry for virtually all her working life. When Creek and Epos were first launched in Australia more years ago than she cares to admit to, her company was responsible for the marketing and distribution of the brands. Her association with Creek and Epos ceased when she changed direction and became involved in the custom installation industry in Australia.

Her move to the U.K. towards the end of 2001, saw her satisfying a life long ambition to spend time in this country, a fact some of us are having difficulty in understanding! Obviously she feels a certain sense of the familiar working once again with Creek products.

With her family still in Australia, her major interests continue to revolve around the Antipodes and anything and everything Australian!

Giles Devlin Company Secretary

Giles Devlin

Giles, Creek's Company Secretary, built his first loudspeaker at the age of 16 and as a result of his efforts did not go on to become a loudspeaker designer - far from it! However his interest in all things audio has resulted in his working within the industry for more than 13 years - the last 9 with Creek and Epos.

Giles keeps everything flowing smoothly for all suppliers and customers, both in the U.K. and abroad.

He definitely has a humorous side - if a little dry at times - and no doubt amuses himself as much as the rest of us through the course of the working day!

Once away from the office his interests are somewhat diverse. His young son is a constant source of delight and is already showing signs of being a chip off the old block. Sport of most types ranks up there fairly high on the list of interests with cricket and running taking centre stage from a participation standpoint.

Santo Prattico Project Manager

Santo Prattico

Italian to the core (although born in Manchester) Santo left the delights of Genoa a few years ago to head to Hemel Hempstead and Creek Audio. He joined us with a wealth of experience, having founded Audio Analogue in 1996. As Managing Director of that company he was actively involved in the design and manufacture of amplifiers and CD players. 1998 saw him take up a position as Project Manager with Marconi in Coventry, although it was not too long until he headed back to those enticing Italian shores as Marconi's Program Manager for Photonics.

Two years after joining Creek he once again returned to Italy and now works from there, visiting the Creek office on a regular basis. Santo spends an increasing amount of time in China dealing directly and closely with the engineers of the companies who manufacture our products.

Apart from his decided liking for vintage cars, we're lead to believe that his talents revolve around the finer things in life - music and food. He plays the Hammond organ (although we have yet to find out how well) and enjoys cooking.

Luke Creek Systems Manager

Luke Creek

Having been almost born with a soldering iron in my hand it was not long before I became interested in Hi-Fi. In my teenage years I spent quite a lot of time developing different types of loudspeakers with some Quad-22 power amps as a hobby, my most successful speakers were undoubtably a 6 1/2" transmission line speaker that stood 1.5m high.

Nowadays my thinking is much more grounded, I deal with many different parts of the business here at Creek. Looking to the future I see the home audio market being all about connectivity, if your not connected then you're just not going to be around for long.

Barry Magee Logistics Manager

Barry Magee

Barry joined Creek in 2007 and fast became everyone's right hand. No doubt his will often be the voice that you first hear when you call us - he takes care of all service issues - he keeps an eye on order processing - he looks after parts issues, making sure they are sent out quickly - and he enjoys dealing with those sales questions that pop up on a daily basis.

Out of the office Barry has a couple of passions, not least of which is his lovely wife Kelly and his son Logan, born in 2008. Barry has a delightful daughter, Chloe, who always brings a smile to his face when her name is mentioned. His love of motorbikes also rates highly in his life.

David Cheung Manager, China Office

David Cheung

David joined Creek and Epos in 2005 to manage our Chinese office. With experience in the audio industry and a vast knowledge of suppliers and parts, he works tirelessly to ensure an exceptional standard of quality is applied to all products manufactured under the Creek and Epos brands.

He acts as interpreter when Mike and Santo visit – and as a result his English has improved enormously. Not so Mike’s and Santo’s Chinese………

Although Creek has its own offices, David’s preferred work station is at the local Starbucks where he seems to have become quite a celebrity.

Dan Zhang Quality Control Manager, China

Dan Zhang

Dan is the latest addition to the Creek and Epos team, joining the company early in 2009.

Dan is an exceptional quality control expert and spends his days and nights at the factory when Creek and Epos models are in production. He oversees production and personally tests each and every product before he signs it off for shipment.
